Corporate Social Responsibility at hbl

In support of our company values we share a responsibility to ensure that we operate ethically, valuing the diversity of our suppliers & customers whilst acknowledging International Human Rights, local laws, and customs. We recognise that dealing with different suppliers/customers around the world is a complex business, but our guiding principles are that HBL:

• Suppliers comply in every respect to legislation regarding their impact on the environment
• Goods are produced and delivered under conditions that do not involve intimidation, abuse, or exploitation of others
• Represent fair value for price, quality and volume offered
• Meet legal, industrial and Hosiden Besson’s quality and safety standards
• The Company will not facilitate, support, tolerate or condone any form of money laundering.

• To ensure that our business is run in an ethical and effective manner
• We are committed to creating and maintaining a safe and healthy working environment for our employees, customers, and the community.
• We have a zero-tolerance approach to modern slavery, and we are committed to acting ethically and with integrity in all our business dealings and relationships
• Companies comply with all national and other applicable laws and regulations in relation to Human Rights and the International Labour Organisation Conventions

• Child labour is not used
• Wages shall meet, at a minimum, the national standards

• Developing a workforce where there is mutual trust and respect, free from bullying and harassment
• Providing our employees with suitable training and assisting them in realising their potential
• Seeking to protect our employees from third party abuse that might be injurious to their safety, health, or well-being
• No employee or individual or business working on our behalf must accept or give a bribe, facilitation payment or other improper payment for any reason
• The company will conduct its operations in accordance with the principles of good corporate governance and where possible adherence to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDG’s)

We work in partnership with our suppliers and customers to ensure that such considerations are made and will seek alternate sources where the conduct of suppliers demonstrably violates Human Rights, International or local laws.

The implementation of this policy is a shared responsibility between Hosiden Besson and its suppliers and customer and will be a risk-based approach.

CONFLICT MINERAL STATEMENT

At Hosiden Besson we do not use “conflict minerals” in any of our processes and do everything we reasonably can to ensure that our business activities do not contribute to the conflict in the Democratic Republic of the Congo or surrounding countries. We also encourage our entire supply chain to commit to the same level of responsible sourcing of materials.
