Icon fishing system

HBL were approached by Wolf, a fishing equipment brand established by the founder of Fox International, with a concept for a new type of transceiver system that would revolutionise the industry. The customer wanted to develop technology that could connect bite alarms, bivvy lights, PIR sensors and other devices to send signals between one another, thus creating a more sophisticated fishing set up for anyone using the Icon system.

We focused on the design and production of a two-way signalling system, known as a transceiver, to act as a hub for all other components. Additionally, we incorporated compatible accessories such as lights, alarms and security sensors into development. This technology brings a new level of flexibility to the market, making the Icon range one of the most advanced fishing systems of its time.

Our work on this hub started four years ago, with a team of HBL engineers dedicated to the project. In that time there has been significant product development, leading Wolf to launch the product in winter 2021. Since then, it has become the customer’s flagship range and established them as market leaders in the fishing industry. HBL will continue to work with Wolf on expanding the Icon portfolio, as well as their other product ranges, in the years to come.
